C-e-e-e-lebrate good times, alright!
Hello Wordspillers and spectators alike! Thank you very much for waiting patiently while the =Wordspill staff sorted through your entries and applied our super secret technique of assigning winners!

Now before we get started, an apology. One of our staffers pointed out just minutes after we submitted the competition news that there no longer exists a 6-month subscription option (and probably hasn't been for a long time)! So with our apologies and your good graces, we're reducing the prize to the next option of 3-month subscriptions for each winner. We do apologise for that, but rest assured we'll try and make it up with more competitions and events throughout the year! Now without further bowing and scraping, onto the prize winners!

The Random Chance prize!
As you may have guessed, this prize has been awarded by random selection. The way we did this was to split everyone up into little 1v1 face-offs and then raced snails representing each wordspiller. The winners continued to face off and the losers, well, lost. It was hard to get the harnesses around the their shells, but at least the tiny ant jockeys had a fun time! Alternatively we just flipped coins until one participant was left.

Anyway, the result was that *Medoriko emerged the snail racing, coin flipping champion and won herself a 3-month subscription! Woo hoo!

<h1>The Super Special Guest prize!</h1>
This prize was awarded by a very super special guest literature GD who used her own super secret arcane arts to choose one of you at random. We received her response just yesterday via a quite exhausted albatross clutching an envelope in its beak, and so we can proudly announce that the winner of the super special guest prize is *DragonBehin! She wins herself a 3-month subscription! Yeah!

The Mop of the Month prize:
This prize goes to the person who we think contributed the most useful comments (not necessarily the most) to helping people improve their wordspill work. While there wasn't exactly a landslide of comments on all the pieces, a few comments really stood out by Mr. *sirusvilla. He was thoughtful, encouraging, and knew exactly what he wanted to say, so for his efforts, *sirusvilla wins a 3-month subscription!

And now we return to our usual schedule...
You've all been wonderfully patient while we went through a bit of an unreliable holiday period, but we're here to reassure you that from now on it's business as usual as we progress through this new wordspilling year of 2009! And in order to kick 2009 off we have a brand new theme for you to write to! The theme for the coming fortnight's wordspill is:
